Hello, I’m Jay Hooper and welcome to my website.

I founded Orchard Learning Studios in 2011 with the idea of providing a ‘one stop shop’ for all manner of courses and workshops, creating a centre where fun and creativity come together across all generations.

Having initially been based in the Studio facilities which gave their name to the business, I have now branched out under the Orchard canopy. I am bringing our workshops out, to run them in a location nearer to you. Which means you don’t need to travel far in order to come out and play!

I have dates and venues booked for some of our workshops, or call me and I can arrange one near you.

Please check out my blog, where you can meet Creative Cookie, and read about her exploits along with her friend and associate, Dizzy Designer. What are this daft duo up to now?

I can arrange a craft-based team day for groups of up to 40. Venues are arranged according to group size and location, and choice of activity.

A delicious locally-sourced lunch becomes an after-event talking point, and participating in a creative activity provides unrivalled opportunity for personal and professional development.

Homeworkers can become socially and creatively isolated, and I offer an outlet for interaction and personal development, either through scheduled workshops or bespoke offering.

I arrange a fabulous Hen party, for groups of 4 - 20. Full day, Half day, Evening or even weekend.  Whatever the age range or interests of your party, I can find a way to engage everyone for a truly fabulous and memorable time.
Please call me to discuss further.
Gifts, Craft Kits and Seasonal decorations
I offer gift vouchers, which may be redeemed against any of our activities, parties or goods for sale.
I showcase many of my workshops through the manufacture and sale of a range of beautiful and unique hand made gifts, a growing range of craft kits and seasonal decorations.
These are available for sale through my online shop or at any of the craft fairs and events where I am attending.
I accept commissions, and am happy to personalise many of the items I make.

Running a craft-based business is not all fun and creative – the majority of time has to be spent in all that boring administrative and marketing activity.

I am a trained mentor, registered with the IOEE (Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs) and I offer a mentoring service to anyone wanting to set up their own creative-based business.

I help you to understand the nuts and bolts of setting up and help you to develop your creative ideas to point of sale, including developing a business case, evaluating the risks and setting firm administrative foundations to underpin your future success.
